Tel Aviv, 2 February 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Israeli troops operating bulldozers raided a refugee camp near the West Bank town of Tamun, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Sunday, in an expansion of military operations in the north of the occupied territory.
The Israeli military said that weapons had been found in the raid, including M-16 rifles and ammunition, and promised to continue counterterrorism operations in the West Bank to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah said three men were killed in a drone attack in Jenin, a stronghold of Palestinian armed groups, on Saturday.
This means that a total of 25 Palestinians have been killed since the start Israel's Iron Wall military campaign in the northern West Bank on January 21.
Palestinians said on Sunday that in addition to Tamun, Israeli troops were also in action in Jenin and the city of Tulkarem.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that a total of three "terrorist cells" were attacked in Jenin and the city Qabatiya within a few hours on Saturday.
The cell in Qabatiya was on its way to launch an attack, the IDF said.
