Iran and North Macedonia to cooperate in culture, economy, politics
Skopje, 16 September 2021 (MIA) – Cooperation in culture, economy and politics was in the focus of a meeting between Iranian Ambassador Seyed Mohammad Javad Rasouli and Minister of Culture Irena Stefoska on Thursday.
Iranian Ambassador Rasouli expressed interest in opening a department or organizing Persian language courses at one of the Macedonian universities, as well as studying Macedonian language at Iranian universities, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
Rasouli said he was hopeful that after Covid-19 restrictions are eased, events on the culture of the two countries could be organized. Iran, adds the press release, is very successful in culture and cinematography, and in this regard, Rasouli proposed organizing Days of Iranian Films not only in Skopje, but also in other cities across the country.
According to the Foreign Ministry, an agreement is being initiated between the news agencies IRNA and MIA to exchange information on the two countries, as well as an agreement between the two national broadcasters to exchange feature films, serials and documentary films.
