Kichevo, 18 April 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski paid a working visit to the Kichevo, Zajas, and Oslomej Police Departments, an official press release said.

According to the release, Toshkovski held meetings with police department heads to learn about current activities, the criminality rate as well as staffing and equipment issues.

"The security situation on the territory of Kichevo, where more than 50,000 inhabitants live, is generally stable and there is over 50 percent realization of criminal acts, despite the low number of police officers and old vehicles," Toshkovski is quoted as saying in the press release.

In Zajas and Oslomej, he said, the number of recorded violations of public order and peace had dropped. Police staffing and technical assets issues were similar as in most departments across the country, he added. mr/
