Skopje, 30 April 2022 (MIA) — This leadership of the Ministry of Interior will always be at the service of the citizens, showing that overall security is a top priority, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said during an Open Day at the Police event held in the Strumica park ahead of Police Day, May 7. At the event, police officers demonstrated their equipment, including special vehicles and a helicopter. Minister Spasovski said the event was an opportunity for local citizens to socialize with police officers and learn about the profession. In his speech, he announced 5 percent raises for all Ministry of Interior employees from September. He also said renovations of police department buildings would continue in Berovo, Delchevo, Skopje’s Gazi Baba, and Sveti Nikole. Strumica Mayor Kostadin Kostadinov stressed that Strumica had excellent cooperation with the local police department and would strive to improve it in the future. Similar Police Day events were held in Veles, Kriva Palanka, Struga and Krushevo, with top officials of the Ministry of Interior attending. mr/
