Industrial production up 0.3 percent in February: statistics
- Industrial production in February rose by 0.3 percent compared to February 2023. In the January – February period of 2024, compared to the first two months of 2023, industrial production rose by 1.5 percent, said the State Statistical Office in a press release.

Skopje, 29 March 2024 (MIA) – Industrial production in February rose by 0.3 percent compared to February 2023. In the January – February period of 2024, compared to the first two months of 2023, industrial production rose by 1.5 percent, said the State Statistical Office in a press release.
Industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in February 2024, in comparison with February 2023, increased by 5.6%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 0.8%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 14.5%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to the increased production in the divisions, Manufacture of food products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of paper and paper products, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical product and pharmaceutical preparations, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, Manufacture of other transport equipment, Manufacture of furniture, Other manufacturing and Repair and installation of machinery and equipment.
Industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in February 2024, in comparison with February 2023, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 5.9%, Capital goods by 4.8% and Durable consumer goods by 3.4%, but lower in Energy by 15.4% and Nondurable consumer goods by 5.9%.
