Independent Production Days begin at Drama Theater
- Several independent theaters will stage plays at Skopje's Drama Theater through Sept. 20 as part of this year's Days of Independent Production.
Skopje, 11 September 2025 (MIA) – Several independent theaters will stage plays at Skopje's Drama Theater through Sept. 20 as part of this year's Days of Independent Production.
According to organizers, the program showcases an eclectic selection of innovative and unconventional theater projects: "The Maids," "Krieg," "Folie à deux," "The Lesson," "I'm Waiting For You," "The Wolf of Love," "The Fetishist," "Hinkemann" and "Wi-Fi".
"The Maids" directed by Teodora Siljanoska will open the independent theater festival Thursday evening. The cast consists of Marija Kondovska, Kristina Gieva and Vanesa Trimchevska.
"Krieg," produced by Macedonian Center International Theater Institute, will be staged Friday at 8 pm. The video theater project featuring Zdravko Stojmirov and Filareta Atanasova was directed by Ivanka Apostolova Baskar.
Vortex Theater will present Gjorgji Rizeski's hyperrealistic "Folie à deux," performed by Jana Veljanovska and Nikola Miloshevski, Saturday evening.
Also directed by Rizeski, the one-act play by Eugène Ionesco "The Lesson" will be staged on Sept. 16. It was produced by Motion Network Shtip. The cast consists of Eftim Trajchov Gjaurski, Dimitrina Mickoska Trajkoska and Milorad Angelov.

On Sept. 17, the Drama Theater showcase two theatrical productions from the independent scene. On its small stage at 7 pm, Theater For You will perform "I'm Waiting for You" written and directed by Izabela Jakimova. The play features Goce Andonov and Angela Lefkova as well as members of the audience. On the Risto Stefanovski stage at 9 pm, theatergoers will see "The Wolf of Love" by Branislav Nikolov and Tihomir Janchovski.
On Sept. 18 at 8 pm, Zdravko Stojmirov will perform the monodrama "The Fetishist" by Michel Tournier.
On Sept. 19 at 8 pm, Zlaten Elec Theater will stage Ernst Toller's "Hinkemann." The play was directed and adapted by Tamara Stojanoska. The cast consists of Boban Aleksoski, Talija Nastova or Nadica Petrova, Driton Vejseli or Filip Hristovski, Ane Blazhovski, Leonida Gulevska and Branko Mihajloski.
Days of Independent Production at the Drama Theater closes Sept. 20 at 8 pm with Drama Studio Tetovo's "Wi-Fi" featuring Natasha Petrovska, Lazar Sarovski, Dragana Radovanov, Gligorije Stojanovski and Igor Bachoski, directed by Mirko Vidoeski. mr/
