Independence Day observed at Expo 2025 Osaka

Skopje, 8 September 2025 (MIA) - The Republic of North Macedonia observed Independence Day at Expo 2025 Osaka with a special programme, including the performance of opera singers Ana and Igor Durlovski.

The Durlovski duo, accompanied by chamber orchestra "Ajga", performed modern renditions of Macedonian folk songs by composer Soni Petrovski, delivering the magic of the Macedonian tradition to international audiences, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a press release.

Jazz guitarist Vladimir Vasilevski-Chetkar also held a concert, as did Kiril Dzhajkovski and his band.

The exhibit dedicated to Japanese architect Kenzō Tange, whose plan for Skopje's reconstruction after the 1963 earthquake is a model of architectural and urban planning as a bridge between cultures and nations, was an attraction in itself.

The Macedonian pavilion, which has an average of 30,000 visitors on a daily basis, provides an opportunity for people to see the country's cultural heritage, tourism potential, natural beauties, unique heritage protected by UNESCO, as well as the rich gastronomic tradition.

Macedonia is promoting itself as an attractive tourism destination that is ready to offer an unforgettable experience in the spirit of authenticity and hospitality, while sending a clear message about its cultural diversity, artistic creativity and modern spirit, showcasing to the world its rich tradition and receptiveness to the future, reads the press release.
