Skopje, 9 September 2024 (MIA) — Ili-ili publishing has released Scottish-based Bulgarian writer Kapka Kassabova's book "Border" translated from the English into Macedonian by Branislav Mirchevski, the publishers said in a press release. 

"Border" is the author's exploration of the triple borderland of Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece. The book is part of her Balkan quartet of books. "Each book delves into a region of the southern Balkans mostly in or bordering Bulgaria. These are rich human and natural ecosystems scarred by political trauma," Kassabova says.

The publication of the book was supported by the Amsterdam's Fund for Central and East European Book Projects and the Ministry of Culture.

Kapka Kasabova (b. 1973, Sofia) is a writer of narrative prose and poetry. Her books include "Someone Else's Life" (2003), "Street Without a Name" (2008), "Twelve Minutes of Love" (2011), and the Balkan quartet: "Border" (2017), "To the Lake" (2020), "Elixir" (2023), and "Anima" (2024).

At the age of 18, she emigrated with her family to New Zealand, where she graduated in French Literature at Otago University and English Literature and Creative Writing at Victoria University and published her first poetry books in English. She has livеd in Scotland since 2005. mr/
