Skopje, 12 August 2023 (MIA) - We are convinced that amid this political momentum we will be the most positive political force contributing to the country's future and the long-term processes ahead, especially the country's EU integration, said Arjanit Hoxha at the founding assembly of the European Democratic Party on Saturday.

Hoxha, a former vice-president of Besa, said the new party would be constructive in the Parliament.

"We are opening a new page on the political scene, contributing to the democratization and implementation of European values," said Hoxha.

He noted that the constitutional changes are the party's first step.

"Our first step is the battle for the constitutional changes, which we expect to pass, since this would open the EU doors. If they fail, then the country enters a scenario in which the European perspective needs political forces that should unite and prevent the country from falling into the hands of politicians who want to isolate it," he added.

Hoxha said the European Democratic Party would act independently, namely without joining the ruling or the opposition parties.
