High school graduates take first external exam

Skopje, 1 June 2024 (MIA) - Nearly 15,000 high school graduates across the country are taking on Saturday their Native Language and Literature examination, the first external exam of the two needed to obtain a state high school graduation diploma.
According to the State Examination Center, 10,088 high school graduates in the 2023-24 school year applied to take the Macedonian language exam; 4,189 applied for the Albanian language exam, and 315 applied for the Turkish language exam.
Education Minister Jeton Shaqiri is to visit “Niko Nestor” high school in Struga on the start of state high school graduation examination and director of the State Examination Center Biljana Mihajlovska is to visit “Orce Nikolov” high school in Skopje.
As their second exam, most students have opted to take an English language test (13,198 candidates); 1,356 high school seniors will take a Mathematics exam; 114 will take German; 37 will take French; 1 will take Russian; 1 will take Philosophy; and 84 will take an Aesthetics exam. The second exam will be taken on June 8.
Students who do not pass or fully complete the state graduation exam in the June session can apply for the August session, where the two external exams are scheduled for August 12 and 14.
