Washington, 7 November 2024 (dpa/MIA) - Vice President Kamala Harris called on her supporters to accept the results of the presidential election as she has conceded defeat to Donald Trump in a Washington speech.

"We must accept the results of this election," the Democratic candidate said on Wednesday.

Harris added: "We will engage in a peaceful transfer of power."

Trump was able to regain the White House after securing victories in the key swing states of North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, US broadcasters projected earlier on Wednesday.
