Grubi-Hulmann: EU path opens with French proposal
Skopje, 7 July 2022 (MIA) – First Deputy PM and Minister of Political System and Community Relations, Artan Grubi, met Thursday with Swiss Ambassador Veronique Hullmann, discussing the French proposal, ongoing protests and challenges on the country’s EU path. It is exceptionally important to unlock the path towards EU integration through a constructive and comprehensive overview of the French proposal supported by 27 member-states, which does not harm the identity, cultural, linguistic and historical traits of our fellow citizens, said Deputy PM Grubi at the meeting. Grubi said rational approach is needed amid this key period for the country, in order to seize the historic opportunity for settlement of the dispute with Bulgaria, the Ministry said in a press release. Ambassador Hulmann was briefed on the transparent process related to the French proposal, with both agreeing on the need for operational compactness and comprehensive engagement by all political stakeholders, academia, civil society and all citizens in overcoming challenges. Interlocutors also tackled the events following the release of the proposal, with Grubi condemning the violence during the protests, seen as unnecessary, anti-European and damaging, aimed at destabilizing the country, reads the press release.
