Grkovska: Support of society’s digital transformation process particularly important in strengthening institutional capacities
Skopje, 30 June 2022 (MIA) - Deputy PM for good governance policies Slavica Grkovska hosted a donor conference attended by representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions at the Government on Thursday. At the conference, also attended by the Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, Deputy PM Grkovska presented the current projects concerning the digital transformation of society implemented in the country to the foreign partners and donors, as well as the projects which need to be realized in order to enable the optimization of the processes and their digitization. At the same time, it was emphasized that every ministry and institution needs to have a plan for digitization, as well as the need to reorganize the strategic planning departments that are crucial for strategic planning and functioning of the institutions, the Government said in a press release. The conference highlighted electronic IDs, law on archival activities that will standardize the archival processes of digital documents, standardization of the processes for digital exchange of documents between institutions and cyber security as priorities in the process of digital transformation of society. The Deputy PM said that in parallel with these processes, support is necessary for projects aimed at improving the digital skills among those employed in public administration, but also among the citizens in general. At the same time, Grkovska emphasized that the donors’ support during the process of digital transformation of society is particularly important, especially when it comes to the strengthening of institutional capacities, and she thanked attendees for the current cooperation. Attending organizations concluded that the current successful cooperation should continue because it is one of the basic conditions for the full implementation of North Macedonia’s strategic priorities. “The donor conference is a forum at which senior representatives of North Macedonia’s donor community gather in order to exchange ideas for the advancement of strategic and efficient use of the financing programs,” reads the press release.
