Skopje, 19 December 2023 (MIA) – At a session Tuesday, the Government finalized the text of a draft-law banning unfair trading practices in the agricultural and food supply chain.

In a press release, the Government said the creation of an appropriate legal framework in the area, for the first time in North Macedonia, explicitly defines the fundamentals, rules, and measures for the removal of power imbalance in negotiations.

According to the Government, the draft-law represents a complete harmonization with the European directives on unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain.

“Positive effects are expected to be achieved in the corporate work of all operators (buyers and suppliers), which are active in the agriculture and food supply chain at various stages of production,” said the Government.
