Skopje, 13 August 2024 (MIA) - During today's regular session, the government decided to extend the national state of crisis due to the wildfires, raise the budget for the Protection and Rescue Directorate to combat the fires, and also adopted a decision to revoke the approval for the increase in notary fees effective from June 6.
Reviewing the reports from the Crisis Management Center, the government allocated 52 million denars from state reserves for 2024 to increase the budget of the Protection and Rescue Directorate for covering firefighting expenses. Out of these funds, 41 million denars are for the Protection and Rescue Directorate, and 10.5 million denars are intended to cover accommodation, food, and transportation expenses for foreign aid personnel assisting with the fire response.
The government reviewed and adopted the decision to revoke the previous approval for increasing notary fees. It was determined that the earlier decision from June 6, which had raised notary fees, was rushed and imposed a burden on the citizens.
