Skopje, 1 April 2025 (MIA) - At a session Tuesday, the Government accepted the resignation of the Mayor of Kochani, Ljupcho Papazov, who resigned following the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani which killed 59 people and left around 200 injured.

Papazov was arrested alongside two other former mayors of Kochani as part of an investigation into the incident and is currently in 30-day detention. The other two mayors are under house arrest.

Once the decision is published in the Official Gazette, the Council of the Municipality of Kochani will need to appoint an interim mayor.
