Skopje, 3 June 2023 (MIA) – The Governor of the National Bank, Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska is attending a conference Saturday organized by the Croatian National Bank (HNB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is being held on June 2-3 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
The conference titled “Policymaking in Choppy Waters: Fostering Resilience in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe” is an event which gathers central bank governors, and ministers of finance from the CESEE region and high representatives of international financial organizations. This year’s conference will also be attended by the head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva.
According to the National Bank, Angelovska-Bezhoska will participate in roundtable discussions chaired by Georgieva, dedicated to the challenges faced by the economies of the region at a time of geopolitical fragmentation, and to reaching energy stability for the economies. Moreover, the IMF’s support for the member states who have faced repeated crises.
The conference, held June 2-3, will touch upon several significant topics related to the current challenges, such as enhancing energy security along the green transition, adjusting to ongoing shifts in trade and foreign direct investment patterns, and steering macroeconomic and structural policies in a world of more frequent supply shocks.
