Skopje, 25 July 2023 (MIA) - The Government approved Tuesday the third group of companies receiving state support in line with the Law on Financial Support of Investments.

This year saw a record 427 applications for investment projects. At today's session, the Government approved 122 agreements, adding to the first group of 82 companies and the second including 90 companies. Therefore, the process of approving 294 agreements for financial support of investments has been completed, the Government said in a press release.

It adds that the 122 companies receiving Government support create new and well-paid jobs.

These companies invested EUR 44.6 million in 2022 and will invest a total of EUR 186 million by the end of 2023, says the Government.

It notes that 2021 changes in the Law on Financial Support of Investments take into account the balanced regional development and ensure increased support for companies in less developed regions.

Over the past six years of its implementation, the law has ensured the conclusion of agreements supporting 630 companies.
