Gjorgjievski: Skopje voted for a vision, concrete projects and responsible functioning

Skopje, 20 October 2025 (MIA) – Skopje voted for a vision, concrete projects and responsible functioning, Orce Gjorgjievski, VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for mayor of the City of Skopje, said Monday.
Skopje chose the future, he told a news conference after Sunday’s first round of the 2025 local elections.

“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for each vote and for the huge trust you had in me in the first round. The result is clear and unequivocal – Skopje voted for work, Skopje voted for a vision, for concrete projects and for responsible functioning,” Gjorgjievski said.

Addressing voters, he said: “You sent a clear message that our city deserves more and it can do so much more.”

The candidate of the ruling party mentioned the second round of the elections. “We won the first half-time in landslide, but it is not yet over. We have to confirm the victory and make it a bigger one. There’s no stopping. Starting today, we continue working more intensely,” stated Gjorgjievski.

In the next two weeks, he said, me and my team will visit every neighbourhood, every street and every home.

“I want to send a message to the people who didn’t vote in the first round or who voted for the other candidates. The door of our civic coalition is open for all. Our vision is united Skopje, not a divided city. I call on you to rally around the idea of a better Skopje for all of us,” said Gjorgjievski.

He announced that starting today, he will talk with all the candidates and political entities that didn’t make it into the second round to offer cooperation. “The team who will run Skopje will be made up of only the best.”

“This city has lost precious time experimenting. Enough is enough. I call for your support and to vote en mass in the second round. Let’s confirm the will of the majority. This is a fight for a developed and functioning Skopje,” concluded Gjorgjievski.

Asked whether he expects SDSM and DUI’s endorsement in the November 2 second round, he said he expects support from “all the residents of the capital.”
