Skopje, 31 October 2025 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE's candidate for Skopje Mayor, Orce Gjorgjievski finished his campaign ahead of Sunday’s runoff vote in the local elections by meeting citizens in the Municipality of Centar alongside party leader and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, and ZNAM’s candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Miroslav Labudovikj.
“Today we are finishing up the campaign for the runoff, here in Centar, where we will have a chance to talk to the citizens about all the difficulties and problems they face. This campaign was an opportunity to meet with the citizens, not only in Centar, not only in Kisela Voda, but with the citizens from all over Skopje so we can see the problems we’ve all been living with for years,” Gjorgjievski said.
Gjorgjievski said throughout the campaign he was able to hear the citizens’ problems with “nonfunctional public enterprises and numerous projects that have been waiting to be realized for decades”.
“We offered a new concept and strategy with which we will change Skopje together over the next four years. I am happy that Skopje is finally awake, that the citizens of Skopje are awake and ready for changes, not only in Skopje, but also here in Centar, where I am sure it is clear and unequivocal that Labudovikj will get the backing of our compatriots,” Gjorgjievski said.
The ruling party’s candidate for mayor, who will face Levica’s Amar Mecinovikj in Sunday’s runoff in the capital, called for mass turnout and vowed “fundamental changes” in Skopje from Monday.
“I urge a mass turnout on Sunday, a mass, referendum-like turnout from our compatriots. And starting from Monday, we will roll up our sleeves and begin with fundamental changes in our capital,” Gjorgjievski said.
