Gevgelija hosts traditional Macedonian bridal dress photo show
Gevgelija, 29 September 2021 (MIA) — An exhibition of photos of traditional Macedonian wedding dresses dating from the late 19th and early 20th century, taken from the private collection of Struga collector Ljupcho Milosheski, opened at the Gevgelija Cultural Center, MIA’s Gevgelija correspondent reports.
Titled "From Ljubanishcha to Debor," the exhibition puts on display photos of regional folk bridal attire from 12 areas of the Brsjak and Debar-Reka ethnographic regions.
Milosheski said he started collecting the folk costumes when he was 15.
“My idea was to collect all the folk costumes along the Drim River, starting from its source at Sveti Naum to Debar,” he said, noting that he took the photos over the past year and a half and printed them with the support of Prof. Vladimir Janevski.
The exhibition will run through Oct. 1. mr/
