Berlin, 8 April 2023 (dpa/MIA) - Germany's last remaining nationwide mask requirements ended on Saturday, some three years after they were first imposed to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Wearing a face mask is no longer obligatory for visitors to doctors' offices, hospitals and care facilities.
The provisions expired as set out in the country's Infection Protection Act.
Pandemic-related rules to protect vulnerable populations have been relaxed in several steps.
At the beginning of March, the obligation for visitors to hospitals and nursing homes to show proof of a negative coronavirus test was dropped.
Masking rules in shops, buses and trains have long since fallen away.
