Paris, 6 August 2024 (dpa/MIA) - World champions Germany swatted aside Greece to reach the Olympic men's basketball semi-finals after FRanz Wagner top-scored with 18 points in a 76-63 victory on Tuesday.
The basketball knock-outs rounds have moved to the Bercy Arena in Paris, the former gymnastics venue, after the group phase in Lille and Germany seamlessly made the transition.
Top star Dennis Schröder of the Brooklyn Nets contributed with three three-pointers while a game-high 22 points from NBA star 34
Giannis Antetokounmpo was not enough for the Greeks.
Germany's women won gold in the 3x3 basketball on Monday while the women's full team take on hosts France in their quarter-final on Wednesday.
The rest of the men's quarter-finals are later on Tuesday, including Brazil against the mighty US.
