Skopje, 10 July 2024 (MIA) - North Macedonia should use the positive momentum and move forward decisively towards the European Union, EU Ambassador David Geer told reporters Wednesday, asked if the results of the EU elections will affect the enlargement process.
“The leaders of the 27 member states committed themselves to a strategic vision for the next five years, and one of the top priorities for that has been enlargement. So, I don’t see a change in the sense of, enlargement is at the top of the agenda, it will continue to be at the top of the agenda,” Geer said.
According to the Ambassador there is momentum on enlargement, and he stressed he hopes “North Macedonia, as well as the other partners in the Western Balkans, will take that opportunity and momentum to move forward decisively towards the European Union”.
