Skopje, 2 February 2026 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi will pay an official visit to Washington from February 2 to 7.

During the visit, Gashi will attend the National Prayer Breakfast, one of the most significant traditional events in the United States, and will meet with U.S. congressmen and representatives of international partner organizations, focusing on strengthening institutional and political partnership.

As part of the visit, Parliament Speaker Gashi will address the Security Forum at the U.S. Congress, which will be attended by leaders from European countries and representatives of the U.S. Congress, where discussions will focus on investments in the field of defence, regional security and transatlantic partnership. Gashi will also take part in a panel discussion at the Balkans Forward Summit, organised by the Atlantic Council.

“The visit aims to deepen ties with the United States and promote cooperation in democracy, security and integration,” the parliamentary press service said.
