Skopje, 8 April 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi extended International Romani Day greetings to the Roma community on Wednesday.  

"This day represents a significant occasion for reflection and appreciation of the rich culture, the distinct identity and the identity that the Roma community has built over the centuries. It is also an ongoing call to strengthen our shared commitment to equality, inclusion and full respect for human rights," Gashi said in his greeting.

The Roma community, he noted, is an important part of the country's social and cultural mosaic.

"I underscore the responsibility of institutions in creating policies and mechanisms that guarantee equal opportunities, quality education, economic inclusion and a dignified life for every citizen. May this day serve as an incentive to deepen cooperation, strengthen understanding and promote the values ​​of respect and equality in our society," said the Parliament Speaker.
