French State Secretary for Europe to visit Skopje on Wednesday
Brussels, 14 November 2022 (MIA) - State Secretary at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Laurence Boone, has confirmed she would pay a visit to North Macedonia on Wednesday.
Boone confirmed this before the start of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday, where the Western Balkans is one of the items on the agenda.
She said the Western Balkans discussion in Brussels will be an opportunity for her to "reaffirm the activity" of French President Emmanuel Macron and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell to "calm down" the situation, likely referring to the tensions between Kosovo and Albania in recent weeks.
Laurence Boone said she would visit Albania tomorrow and North Macedonia the following day.
Her message for the two countries is to insist on the importance of undertaking and implementing rule of law reforms. dk/ik/
