Skopje, 30 September 2025 (MIA) - A Franco-German project "Old Skopje Bazaar - Vision for the Future" was promoted in Skopje on Tuesday, aimed at sensitivizing the public, primarily young generations, over the importance of cultural heritage, to stimulate their creativity through multicultural ateliers and understand the old town culture for better imagining of the future.

German Ambassador Petra Drexler and French Ambassador Christophe Le Rigoleur opened the project, with the latter underlining the long-standing tradition of joint cooperation in third countries, mostly in the field of culture but other sectors as well.

"Our common wish is to give support to something we hold dear to our hearts - cultural heritage - relying on the youth, who are set to implement the project. We believe that the country can share a lot from a multicultural and multireligious aspect. This message is rooted in the past, but this is also a message of political will and wish of the young people," said Ambassador Le Rigoleur.

Ambassador Drexler said the Goethe Institute and the French Institute are partners across the globe and partners that recognize various perspectives.

"This German-French-Macedonian project is about the people who share different experiences regarding the Old Skopje Bazaar. The experience you carry within yourself will impact your perspective on the city. I hope you will use these various impressions and perspectives to develop a common perspective," said Drexler.
