Four April 27 inmates, including Mitko Chavkov, get extension on temporary release 

Skopje, 29 August 2024 (MIA) - Former Interior Minister Mitko Chavkov sentenced to 18 years in prison for the 27 April 2017 Parliament storming has had his temporary release extended to November 21.

The Shtip prison said six people were given a temporary release due to medical reasons.

The head of the Shtip prison, Dejan Zdravkov, told MIA that the temporary release has been extended for Mitko Chavkov (until November 21), Mitko Peshov (until November 16), Oliver Popovski (until September 22) and Dushko Lazarov (until September 25). The temporary release of Aleksandar Janevski – Toshta and Jane Chento has expired and they returned to prison on August 14.

On July 22, the Sanction Execution Administration director Aleksandar Pandov approved the 30-day release of some inmates convicted for the events of April 27 due to medical reasons.
