FM Mucunski meets UK counterpart Cooper, reaffirm commitment to strengthen partnership

Skopje, 16 June 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Tuesday in London with Yvette Cooper, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with both reaffirming the commitment for further enhancement of the strategic partnership and cooperation in many fields of mutual interest, with a focus on economie ties, trade and investments.

FM Mucunski highlighted the Government's commitment to implementation of the government-to-government agreement, as well as the interest for joint activities aimed at attracting British investments and further strengthening of economic cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

In this regard, Mucunski and Cooper discussed the next steps in the development of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.

Interlocutors referred to Corridors VIII and X as projects of infrastructure and strategic importance, and tackled issues related to regional and European stability and security.

In addition, Mucunski and Cooper exchanged opinions on the importance of cooperation and partnership within NATO, current global security challenges, the war in Ukraine and Middle East developments, reads the press release.
