Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - Newly appointed Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the country, Akeem Ali, presented his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski at a meeting Wednesday.

According to the Ministry, Mucunski congratulated Ali on his appointment to the post, welcoming him to the country, he voiced his belief that cooperation will be further enhanced in the coming period. 

“At the meeting, Mucunski stressed that the new Government will work to strengthen the health security system in order to be better equipped to tackle the new challenges. At the same time, Mucunski and Ali exchanged views over previous joint activities, especially the recently signed two-year cooperation agreement in several areas for the 2024-2025 period, in line with the European Programme of Work 2020-2025,” the Ministry said.

Mucunski and Ali affirmed the commitment for future cooperation and new projects and initiatives by the WHO, aimed at, according to the Ministry, “public health reforms whose realization will involve all relevant institutions”.
