Skopje, 15 January 2023 (MIA) – The first batch of aid for Macedonians in Albania was sent Sunday following the August visit to Pustec and Golo Brdo by Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and the conclusions passed by the government as a result of his trip.
Backpacks, school supplies for over 130 pupils and wood stoves are included in a donation of the Ministry of Education and Science, according to the needs of the schools where members of the Macedonian national minority are enrolled.
“I’m pleased for having been able to realize the first batch of the assistance for the Macedonians in Albania, which I committed to during my visit to Trebishte and Pustec, where I met with the Macedonian associations in Albania,” said Osmani adding that a snowplow was also provided as requested by the Trebishte residents, which is to be transported soon, said the Foreign Ministry.
Osmani thanked the Education Ministry and the public enterprise for regional roads for securing the donation.
North Macedonia, he pledged, will continue to provide support for the members of the Macedonian national minority in Albania as concrete aid, such as today’s school equipment, and as institutional assistance for protection and promotion of their linguistic and cultural characteristics in Albania.
