Skopje, 15 October 2025 (MIA) – As part of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska met Wednesday in Washington with representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Technical Assistance (OTA).
The meeting focused on reviewing the existing cooperation and defining future priorities in the areas of public finance, budgeting, taxation, public debt, and the financial system.
Participants in the meeting underscored cooperation with the U.S. Treasury as a key element in the process of modernizing the public finance management system in the country.
“Through projects implemented in the past period, expert support has been provided in several segments – from improving budget planning and establishing program-based budgeting, to fiscal accountability and greater transparency in the use of public funds. In the area of tax and customs policy, discussions focused on continuing technical support for the modernization of the Public Revenue Office, the Financial Intelligence Office, and the Customs Administration,” the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.
