Skopje, 31 December 2024 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche has extended New Year’s greetings to the citizens, wishing them health, happiness and success in 2025.

“Unfortunately, 2024 brought betrayed hopes for many. Instead of economic growth, stability and European perspective, from the new Government we saw stagnation and blockades. The Government betrayed the citizens within the first six months. It failed to adopt reforms, it devastated the living standard of the citizens, and it froze wages. After six months, life is worse than even during the economic crises that are now far behind us. This is a result of the lack of care for the citizens. Unfortunately, we have a Government that cares for the interests of the few, while forgetting those who gave it their trust. That’s why our task is clear – to be a firm voice for the citizens, a voice that will fight for justice, for economic stability and for a better life for us all,” Filipche said.

The SDSM leader stressed that every person matters, and that every problem is a joint challenge.

“We will fight to raise wages and pensions, for new jobs and a real fight against poverty. We are seeking true justice, institutions that work for the citizens and not for partisan interests. In a time of fast changes and uncertainty, the voices of small nations often remain unnoticed, and their cares rarely rouse interest. That’s why we should show wisdom and perseverance, we should seek justice for ourselves and fight for values like peace, solidarity and security. Through hope and sincere wishers, we are sending messages for peace and stability for all peoples who are currently suffering under the burden of wars. It is time for the world to unite around the shared humane goals,” Filipche said.

Filipche thanked the citizens for their support and trust in SDSM and the future of the country.

“May 2025 be a year of victories, new hopes and diligent work for a better tomorrow. Happy New Year. I wish you health, happiness and love in your homes. Together we will build a country that we will all be proud to live in. May hope be our beacon, and trust our strength,” Filipche said in his New Year’s greetings.
