Fifteen Skopje schools receive bomb threats

Skopje, 19 December 2022 (MIA) – Fifteen schools in Skopje, including 13 high schools and 2 primary schools, have received bomb threats via email on Monday afternoon. Checks completed in some of the schools have confirmed the bomb threats were false, said the Ministry of Interior. 

“Immediately after the reports were received, police officers took measures to safely evacuate the buildings. Anti-terror checks are underway and measures are being taken to clear up the cases. Checks completed in some of the buildings have confirmed the bomb threats were false,” the Ministry of Interior said, adding that checks are ongoing in the remaining Skopje schools.  

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said earlier that a coordination meeting of the security services will be held Monday, during which the situation with the false bomb threats will be discussed.
