Skopje, 6 April 2023 (MIA) - As of today, the so-called "Fiery Group" of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) will officially act as a faction within the party.

Chair Mayor Visar Ganiu told a press conference their task is to be the voice of all Albanians.

"Unfortunately, we have been saying for three years now that the statute and programme of DUI are not respected. We are standing here as a faction and assume the task of being the voice of needs and requirements, not only for our electorate but of all Albanians, and this voice will not be silenced. For us, the voice of the people is everything because this is the voice of reason and this will be demonstrated in practice," said Ganiu.

According to him, the DUI bodies are not operating in accordance with the statute, and political decisions are taken exclusively by the ministers nominated by DUI.

The Chair Mayor said there are differences between the group and DUI regarding the implementation of the Albanian language, but also the status of families of NLA fighters, e-voting of the diaspora, casinos out of populated places, rise of minimum and average wages, and strengthening of municipalities.
