Skopje, 24 November 2025 (MIA) — The Faculty of Fine Arts will host Monday a lecture and a workshop on artistic research by Falk Hübner and Heleen de Hoon from the Fontys Academy of the Arts from the Netherlands.

According to organizers, the workshop aims to present the basic principles of artistic research. It is intended for art teachers and students as well as working artists who want to deepen their knowledge and explore the role of the artist as a researcher.

During the workshop, participants will review the stages of the process, from formulating a research question, defining a research method, designing an experiment and presenting results.

"Through this process, they will explore the transition from artist as practitioner to artist as researcher – learning how to transform initial curiosity into a clear and robust research question and how to develop an appropriate methodological approach," organizers said. 

The workshop will conclude with artist presentations showcasing the results.

The event is based on Hübner’s latest open access publication “Method, Methodology and Research Design in Artistic Research: Between Solid Routes and Emergent Pathways” as well as on the methodological approaches developed by Fontys Academy of the Arts, organizers said. 

The workshop will be held at the library and lecture hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in English. mr/
