Ex-special chief prosecutor Janeva back in prison: administration

Skopje, 10 July 2024 (MIA) - Former chief of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPO) Katica Janeva has been stripped of the right to work outside the "Idrizovo" prison, Administration for Execution of Sanctions director Aleksandar Pandov told MIA.

The Administration found that Janeva violated the terms over the use of the right to work outside the prison.

Back in February, Janeva was allowed to work in the law office of her son Lazar Janev, after serving five of the seven-year prison sentence in the "Racket" case. According to the terms of the arrangement, she left Idrizovo early in the morning and went back to the facility after the end of the working hours.

In June 2020, the Skopje-based Criminal Court sentenced Bojan Jovanovski aka Boki 13 to nine years in prison for taking bribes and money laundering, and former special chief prosecutor Katica Janeva to seven years in prison for abuse of office.
