European Front MPs leave government election session

European Front MPs leave government election session

Skopje, 23 June 2024 (MIA) - European Front MPs have left the government election session in Parliament on Sunday. Parliamentary group coordinator Blerim Bexheti said European Front MPs will not vote for the new government because it "does not have legitimacy from the ethnic communities".

"We are not part of this circus. We inform you that we will not participate in the vote because we do not have the right from the majority of Albanians and other ethnic groups to legitimize a government that has no legitimacy from the ethnic communities," Bexheti pointed out.

He told the PM-designate that he was forming a government with those who have lost and that he was creating an ethnic dispute in North Macedonia.

"We didn't hear a word about the Open Balkan, about the laws that should be amended and are part of that project," said Bexheti.

Halil Snopche from the 'Worth It' coalition said in response that it was normal to see drama from those who have nothing to say.

Earlier, the Parliament resumed the session after a one-hour break at the request of Bexheti.

The vote for the new composition of the government should take place no later than midnight.
