Skopje, 19 June 2025 (MIA) - Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska says preparations are under way for issuance of a new eurobond for next year in order to secure funds to service the EUR 700-million eurobond that will mature in 2026.

"This will be an amount larger than EUR 700 million because we will also finance part of the budget deficit for 2026 through the eurobond. Most of the 2025 budget is financed through the domestic banks but it is now time to focus on the international financial markets," Dimitrieska-Kochoska told Sitel.

On the Corridor X fast rail project, the FinMin says no funds would be withdrawn neither this nor the next year.

"According to the information we have from the Ministry of Transport, the first payments will be made in 2027," notes Dimitrieska-Kochoska.
