EU strongly condemns Russian strike on Kyiv targeting EU Delegation

Zagreb, 28 August 2025 (Hina/MIA) - The European Union has strongly condemned last night's Russian attack on Kyiv, in which at least ten people were killed, and among the targeted buildings was the EU Delegation headquarters in Ukraine.

During the night, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles, killing at least 10 people, wounding 38, and damaging residential and other buildings across seven districts, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack, which also killed a child, demonstrated to the world Russia's response to diplomacy amid U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to end the war.

"Horrified by yet another night of deadly Russian missile attacks on Ukraine. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian victims and also with the staff of @EUDelegationUA, whose building was damaged in this deliberate Russian strike. The EU will not be intimidated. Russia's aggression only strengthens our resolve to stand with Ukraine and its people," European Council President Antonio Costa said.

The attack on a residential area and the EU Delegation building was also condemned by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

"I strongly condemn these brutal attacks, a clear sign that Russia rejects peace and chooses terror. Our full solidarity goes to EU staff, their families and all Ukrainians enduring this aggression," Kos said on X.
