EU Ambassador Rokas visits Kriva Palanka

EU Ambassador Rokas visits Kriva Palanka

Skopje, 20 June 2025 (MIA) - The Ambassador of the European Union to North Macedonia, Michalis Rokas, will visit on Friday the Municipality of Kriva Palanka as part of an outreach initiative aimed at bringing the EU and the country’s integration process closer to local citizens.

The visit will begin with meetings between Ambassador Rokas and Mayor Sashko Mitovski, as well as with the Municipal Council. These discussions will focus on the benefits of EU accession and the tangible impact of EU assistance on daily life in the region.

Following the meetings, Ambassador Rokas will participate in a youth session at Europe House in Kriva Palanka, known as “the place of the new generation.” Here, Ambassador Rokas will engage with members of the local youth council and Young European Ambassadors, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to empowering young people in the region.

The visit will conclude with the inauguration of the Green Park in Kriva Palanka. The park, designed to promote urban biodiversity and provide recreational spaces for residents, serves as a model for sustainable green initiatives in urban areas.

This project has been supported by the EU-funded Cross-border Cooperation Programme between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, under priority 1: “Greener Border Region.”
