Eleven killed, many injured in bus crash in Croatia
Zagreb, 6 August (MIA) - At least 11 people were killed and many were injured in a road accident that took place around 5.40 am on Saturday when a bus with Polish licence plates skidded off the road on the A4 highway in the direction of Zagreb, between Jarek Bisaški and Podvorec in the northern Varaždin County, Hina reports.
Dozens of injured have been transported to hospitals in Varaždin and Zagreb.
"So far we know that 11 people have died , while other injured have been transported to hospitals in Zagreb and Varaždin. The intervention is over, firefighters are still on the ground," firefighting unit chief Željko Nagj said, Večernji list reports
According to unofficial information obtained by news portal Index.hr, 25 people were severely injured in the accident.
A number of emergency and firefighting teams from Varaždin and Zagreb counties are at the site of the accident, according to officials at the Varaždin County Police Department.
