Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) - REK Bitola has two blocs in operation and supplies electricity to the Macedonian electricity system, the subsidiary of the mining-energy complex (REK) Bitola within AD ESM said in a press release. According to the press release, Bloc 1 was put into operation at 11:45 am on Tuesday, whereas Bloc 3 was also connected to the grid earlier over the weekend.  

REK Bitola's Bloc 1 was out of service since Friday due to an outage of a 110 kV busbar of MEPSO. The start-up operations of Bloc 3 were also interrupted due to the outage.  

"Despite the problems caused by the outage, REK Bitola's experts put the blocs in operation in record time and the plant is producing electricity through two blocks as of today," the ESM said.

Overhaul of Bloc 2 of REK Bitola is proceeding smoothly and according to the expected dynamics.
