Education, health ministers of North Macedonia and Croatia sign cooperation programs

Zagreb, 29 August 2024 (MIA) - Education Minister Vesna Janevska and her Croatian counterpart Radovan Fuchs, as well as Health Minister Arben Taravari and his Croatian counterpart Vili Beroš, signed programs Thursday in Zagreb for cooperation in education and healthcare.

The new three-year cooperation plan signed by ministers Taravari and Beroš, according to MIA’s reporter in Zagreb includes specialist training for doctors from North Macedonia in Croatia, expert education for teams and specialists on liver transplantation, and the exchange of experts aimed at providing advisory services during the treatment of patients among other things.

The program on cooperation in the field of education until 2028 signed by Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska and her Croatian counterpart Radovan Fuchs includes the exchange of 24 annual scholarships for advanced studies at higher education institutions lasting 3-6 months for candidates under 26 years.

The Macedonian side will additionally provide two scholarships for students of Macedonian to participate in the work of the Macedonian language summer school in Ohrid, while the Croatian side will provide the same number of scholarships for a summer course in Croatian at the Zagreb School of Slavic Studies for students at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.  

The program also includes assistance for the establishment of joint postgraduate studies in fields of common interest.
