Durmishi – Hajdari: Joint economic policies and cooperation to enhance region’s competitiveness

Skopje, 25 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi met with Kosovo’s Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Rozeta Hajdari as part of his official visit to Pristina. The two ministers discussed the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Economy and Labor said in a press release Thursday.
Minister Durmishi noted that the Ministry’s focus will be on creating specific measures and policies aimed at boosting the competitiveness of domestic companies not only in the Macedonian market but also in the region.
“The Minister stressed that the promotion of regional cooperation is a top priority for the Government, with the main goal of improving the living standard of the citizens in North Macedonia and in the region. He emphasized that it is of exceptional importance for the Western Balkan countries to create joint measures aimed at improving the corporate environment and competitiveness of the joint European market,” the Ministry of Economy and Labor said.
At the meeting with Minister Hajdari, Durmishi noted that serious steps advancing the dialogue between the governments and the representatives of the business community have been made as a result of the “Berlin Process”.
The two ministers concluded that the economic cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo, as two neighboring and friendly countries, has serious potential for further enhancement.
