Drim Short Film Festival 2025 begins in Struga

Skopje, 7 August 2025 (MIA) — The 9th Drim Short Film Festival begins in Struga and will run through Aug. 10 at the Poetry Park, Europe House and other local venues, organizers said.

 

The festival will offer several short film screenings, panel discussions and music performances.

 

This year's special guest is German cinematographer and director Florian Hoffmeister.

 

Macedonian actor Nikola Ristanovski will hold a master class in acting.

 

The festival awards five short films: best international short film, best regional short film, best national short film, best student short film as well as best "Dealing with the Past" short film, an award sponsored by Pro Peace Macedonia. 

 

The panel of judges choosing the winning films this year consists of Jelena Jovanova, Nikola Ristanovski, Guido Casale and Branko Ristovski.

 

The 9th Drim Short festival's programming includes a Dutch Cinema Evening, DJ sets by Andreja Salpe and Andrej Micajkov as well as an environmental clean-up drive organized together with Eko Svest NGO.

 

The festival is supported by the National Film Agency, the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Municipality of Struga and other local organizations. mr/
