Dina Duma's film in pre-production wins two awards at Sarajevo Film Festival
Skopje, 19 August 2022 (MIA) - Skateboarding Is Not For Girls, the latest feature by Macedonian director Dina Duma, which is in pre-production, won two prizes in development at Sarajevo Film Festival’s industry platform CineLink.
Namely, Duma's film won the Film Centre Serbia Cinelink Award and newly launched Female Voices Cinelink Award.The North Macedonia-Belgium co-production received the two prizes that each included €10,000. The film is produced by "Sisters and Brother Mitevski" company.
"The recognition handed out in Sarajevo is very important since it comes from the most vital regional co-production market because Skateboarding Is Not For Girls was vying for awards together with 46 works-in-progress," the Film Agency and the "Sisters and Brother Mitervski" company said in a joint press release.
Duma's project, it added, since the beginning has been attracting great deal of attention in international film circles and it was also selected as one of the six films in the prestigious development platform at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
