Dimitrieska Kochoska assures oil situation is stable and under close watch, no need to panic

Skopje, 6 March 2026 (MIA) - Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska said Friday the situation is absolutely fine and under close watch, adding that there is no problem and no need to panic that there will be no oil.

In response to a reporter's question at Friday's panel discussion on economic growth, Dimitrieska Kochoska said a meeting was held with oil companies on Thursday and none of them has said that there was any problem with oil supplies. She noted that inspectors are on the ground regarding oil prices and possible price increases. The State Market Inspectorate has visited more than 100 gas stations over a 24-hour period.

Should the situation call for it, the Minister stressed, the Government will declare a state of crisis and the Ministry of Finance will activate instruments in line with the law.

She said all queries about gasoline and oil prices should be directed to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which is to hold a session on Monday, she noted.
