Skopje, 10 November 2025 (MIA) — The Ministry of Digital Transformation is a leader in the EU-aligned reform agenda, as noted in the recent Progress Report by the European Commission, Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski told a panel titled "The Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the National Reform Agenda: Why Are They Important for the Business Sector?" that took place Monday at the Economic Chamber.
"In his remarks, Minister Andonovski said it was precisely the digital reforms that had contributed to Macedonia fulfilling its obligations under the reform agenda's first package," the Ministry of Digital Transformation said in a press release.
According to the release, Andonovski highlighted the EC's assessment that the country had made measurable progress in cybersecurity, digital services and interoperability. He also noted it recognized the Ministry of Digital Transformation's contribution to the rapid and coordinated implementation of European standards.
Listing related reforms, he mentioned the adoption of the Law on Network and Information Systems Security, in line with EU's NIS2 directive; the Law on Archival Material and Archival Activity; and the Law on Electronic Documents, Electronic Identification and Trust Services. He also said improvements had been made to the National Interoperability Platform and new digital services provided through the uslugi.gov.mk portal.
The digital transformation minister said this had simplified administrative procedures and made them more efficient, creating a higher level of predictability for the business community.
"Our goal is to create a digital state that allows companies to operate more efficiently, with lower costs and with conditions closer to the European single market," Andonovski said. mr/
